Rev. Linda Pope, Pastor I come from a long line of Methodists who first heard Francis Asbury preach near Abingdon, Virginia in the late 1700’s. Their progeny became pastors, the head of the Methodist publishing house, a bishop, and pioneers who began Methodist churches throughout Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. As far as I can tell, I am the first female pastor in this line.
I am United Methodist because I was born into a Methodist family. I remain a United Methodist because I am deeply rooted in the doctrine of grace. God’s unconditional love is available to everyone and my mission on this earth is to help people understand and trust God’s unconditional love, freely given with no strings attached.
As a retired pastor from Oklahoma and Arkansas, I have been called once again, to serve in the pulpit, administer the sacraments and lead the church. I hope you will join us in worship on Sunday or drop by the church Monday-Wednesday afternoons for a cup of coffee or a glass of tea. I would love to meet you and hear your story.
